Type A Copper: 1m, 2″ Straight Pipe: Suits CPB 2″ Copper & 304SS Butt Weld Ferrules and 2″ Copper & 304SS Expansion/Sip on Ferrules
What Is Type A Copper?
Type A copper tubing has significantly thicker walls than other copper types, making it far more durable and long-lasting. When properly maintained, Type A copper can last 50 to 100 years, considerably longer than thinner and much cheaper alternatives such as Type B, L, or M, which some suppliers may use. Due to its superior construction and longevity, Type A copper also comes at a higher cost.
At Cheeky Peak Brewery, we prioritize quality at every stage, knowing that our experienced distillers understand the long-term value of investing in premium materials.
We choose Type A Copper because it is exceptionally well suited to distilling. Its increased wall thickness provides:
-
Greater durability and longevity, allowing the copper to bear greater weight when heated. Stills become heavy and are required to bare a lot of weight, and high-quality pipework is essential to safely support this load. Its strength also allows for future expansion of stills as business needs grow.
-
Improved sustainability over time through extended service life
-
Higher resistance to wear in harsh, high-use working environments
-
Superior performance under higher operating pressures
These advantages make Type A copper the superior choice for professional distillation applications.
